first_imgThe footballers released a statement today condemning the problems they are having at the club and Friday’s friendly against Chester was canceled.The Bolton Wanderers‘ footballers are under stress right now as they say the team owns them 20 weeks of pay.And the friendly against Chester on Friday was canceled after the players refused to play if they haven’t been paid.“The players and coaching staff have not been paid by the club for 20 weeks and the administrators have not offered any financial assistance,” the players wrote a press release as quoted by The Guardian.“It is our understanding that there are sufficient funds to provide financial help immediately, but there has been none.”“As we have stated in a previous statement, all this has caused severe mental and emotional stress, affecting both our professional and personal lives, and this has now only increased,” they say.“Certain individuals are in need of support and none has been forthcoming from the club.”Keith Hill is set to protect Bolton’s young players Manuel R.
