Tata Motors makes ABS standard safety feature across all Tiago and Tigor variants

first_imgTata Motors has started providing ABS with EBD and corner stability control as standard safety features across all the variants of Tiago and Tigor. This has come as a welcome step with the company setting very high safety standards and giving much importance to the protection of passengers.While Tiago’s brochure on company website confirms the availability of ABS with EBD and corner stability control across all variants of the car, Tigor’s brochure does not confirm it. But several reports online claim that these safety features have been made standard across all the variants of Tigor as well.Earlier, ABS (antilock braking system) with EBD (electronic brake force distribution) and corner stability control were only provided in the XZ, XZA and XZ+ variants of Tiago and Tigor.That safety is very high on the priority list of Tata can be gauged from the fact that the home grown auto major’s compact sports utility vehicle, Nexon, has scored a five-star safety rating in the Global NCAP crash test. Besides, the government has made it mandatory for all the cars produced in India from April 1, 2019, to have ABS in them.Also, Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai have provided ABS with EBD as a standard safety feature across all the variants of WagonR and Santro, respectively. These two cars are the main rivals of Tiago. Also, Tigor’s rivals like Maruti Suzuki Dzire and Hyundai Xcent get ABS as standard across all variants.Both Tiago and Tigor get a Revotron 1.2-litre, three cylinder petrol engine and a Revotorq 1.05-litre, three cylinder diesel engine. The two engines come with multi drive modes and are mated to a manual five-speed transmission.
