HTC Omega specs leak include Windows Phone 7 Mango and 15GHz processor

first_imgWhen HTC isn’t building Android smartphones and tablets and tossing Microsoft a few shekels for those patents its licensed back in 2010, the company is churning out Windows Phone 7 devices. HTC has already produced a handful of WP7 phones like the Arrive, HD7, and Surround, and there will soon be at least one more model added to its line-up: the HTC Omega. It’s believed that the Omega will be HTC’s first Windows Phone 7 Mango device, though it will cede the title of first overall to the Fujitsu IS12T. Apart from running Mango, the Omega will feature a 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8255 processor, 512MB of RAM, and 16GB of internal storage. There will also be a rear-facing 8-megapixel wide-angle camera with autofocus and an LED flash, 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi, and other standard accoutrements like a 3.5MM headphone jack, GPS, and DLNA support. It’s also been mentioned that the Omega could include both GSM and HSPA radios.AdChoices广告As for its display, the HTC Omega will sport a 3.8″ Super LCD touchscreen with 800×480 resolution. It’s an interesting choice, since it sounds a lot like the screen that has shipped in the Surround since it started shipping late last year. The camera may also be re-purposed from another HTC phone, the Sensation. The Qualcomm processor in the Omega is no slouch, and it’s the same one you’ll find inside Sony’s Xperia Arc. In the Omega, however, it’s been clocked a full 50% faster. There have been rumblings about this phone since May, but nothing official has surfaced about the Omega just yet. These specs could very well change before launch — assuming the phone does launch.More at Geeky Gadgetslast_img read more
